You will be responsible for producing and negotiating Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and professional service contracts in accordance with established rate and language parameters. This will include modeling, analysis and compilation of volumes and financial data, and negotiation of one-time agreements as needed. You will manage a portfolio of contracts as you lead contract implementation within key operational areas. Your success involves maintaining positive relationships with joint venture partners, health plans, medical groups and other third-party payors to assure their ongoing satisfaction. You will also collaborate with internal and external parties to resolve contract-related operational issues in a timely manner.  You will:


  • Develop and negotiate service contracts
  • Review, analyze and compile ASC, hospital and professional data for clinical procedures/treatments
  • Evaluate profitability of clinical services for developing contracts
  • Review, analyze and present data for specific clinical services
  • Negotiate contract rates/language with third party payers
  • Determine and recommend clinical service packages
  • Develop payor performance report/dashboard
  • Provide market summary to executive leadership
  • Provide timely responses to contracting opportunities and queries




We're seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with:

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • Extensive experience managing ASC contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of the Southern California managed care marketplace
  • Advanced managed care contract negotiation skills, specifically within a hospital, medical group, health system, or health plan environment
  • Knowledge of ASC, hospital and professional reimbursement mechanisms
  • Ability to work with other hospital and clinical departments to implement negotiated contracts
  • Strong analytical, team work, customer service and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Experience with database applications a plus
  • Understanding of organizational dynamics
  • Case rate contracting experience highly desirable
