    The Indianapolis Compound Plant is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team on our overnight shift (12 hour shift, 3-4 days/week). The successful candidate will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled electrical/electronic equipment installation, repair and replacement of plant equipment.
  • Inspecting, installing, repairing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, electronic and associated control systems and power circuits.
  • Designing and/or redesigning electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems, power circuits and control circuits as assigned.
  • Rebuilding and/or replacing, lubricating and maintaining large and small electric motors.
  • Maintaining and installing facility lighting systems.
  • Inspecting and setting safety switches.
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing low and medium voltage switchgear.
  • Troubleshooting and installing programmable controllers and associated components.
  • Making visual inspections of plant operations ensuring that operational problems have been located and corrected.
  • Requisitioning parts and supplies and assisting in the maintenance of spare parts inventory.
  • Maintaining records and preparing regular and special reports on electrical and electronic systems; taking and logging a variety of readings from equipment.
  • Maintaining all company supplied hand tools needed for maintenance function.
  • Maintaining communications with production and maintenance personnel for orderly execution of duties.
  • Observing all EHS rules and procedures.
  • Maintaining an orderly and clean work area to assure a desirable and safe working environment.
  • Performing other related duties as per the direction of the Facilities Engineer.

The Maintenance Technician is expected to have mastered a wide variety of electrical/electronic fundamental skills. Specifically he/she must demonstrate a competency in:

  • DC drive theory
  • AC theory
  • Use of national electrical code
  • Blueprint reading
  • Wiring and troubleshooting
  • Power distribution 120/240 460-3 phase
  • Relay logic
  • Understanding and using all available electrical test equipment, controls systems basics, troubleshooting PLC's, basic PC skills, and conduit installation.
  • Must have mechanical repair abilities and aptitude.
  • Completion of trade school, journeyman apprenticeship program, or associates degree in Industrial Maintenance is preferred.
