Project
Coordinator-GPM Health Systems Unit
Memphis, TN
The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine is a new and growing
department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the
mission of taking St. Jude to the world by training the clinical workforce,
developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives,
and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.
The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM)/St. Jude
Global (SJG) at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (SJCRH) is seeking a
Project Coordinator to support global Health Systems collaborative
initiatives. Duties will include assisting with implementation and
oversight of projects and initiatives including researching, documenting, and
disseminating information. This key team member will act as a liason with
other members of GPM/SJG and global collaborators, and thus must be able to
communicate clearly and foster trusting relationships. The ideal
candidate would be eager to help carve out new work streams to promote health
systems innovations in support of the St. Jude Global strategic vision.
The GPM Health Systems Unit Project Coordinator is responsible
for:
Facilitating coordination of site visits and
preparation of agenda and summary reports
Implementing multi-site health systems needs
assessments
Coordinating and implementing workshops (national,
regional, global), including working with logistics teams to ensure all
aspects of meeting organization are addressed
Facilitating communication and implementation of
initiatives with global collaborators including multi-national agencies
such as WHO, and governmental stakeholders
Developing strong working relationships with partners
both at St. Jude and key global collaborator sites
Developing and designing compelling reports,
research/policy briefs and messaging specifically tailored for needs in
partnership with diverse collaborators
Working with team members across sites to ensure timely
accomplishment of deliverables
Facilitating written and spoken discussions in live
meetings, presentations, and email/written communications
Assisting with analyses of health systems and strategic
implementation needs across operational levels
Developing and implementing standardized tools,
frameworks, and metrics to ensure execution of project deliverables

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, or
related field required
Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or
related field preferred
Minimum Experience
Three (3) years of complex project management
experience, preferably in health related and resource-limited (low- and
middle-income country) settings
Must have experience leading multi-sector stakeholders
in implementation efforts
Must have demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate
multiple projects/work initiatives
Must have flexibility to travel
(estimated 50%) for on-site facilitation as needed
Skills and Abilities
Language skills in one of the other 5 World Health
Organization official languages in addition to English an asset (French,
Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Arabic)Familiarity with general medical/health services
terminology a must
Technical skills in global health systems
Experience with data visualization an asset
Strong communication and analytic skills
Experience in the international and health care setting
Flexibility in schedule to accommodate meetings across
different time zones
Excellent organization skills and attention to details
is a must
Adaptable problem solving skills, able to analyze and
synthesize new information quickly
