Job Description:

Texas Health Specialty Hospital opened in 1989 as a hospital licensed for 15 beds on the campus of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.

Currently, the hospital serves adult patients with medically complex hospital needs of 25 days or more such as acute and chronic renal failure, prolonged respiratory assistance and wound management requiring complex intervention. This is done with a multidisciplinary team approach working closely with patients and families to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

Graduate of a NLN (National League of Nursing) or CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) accredited nursing programs.

BSN preferred
RNs hired within THR after December, 2016, require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date.

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing
Current CPR/BCLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA)
Current ACLS or obtain within 1 year of hire

One year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
ICU/PCU/Tele experience preferred

Patient's assessment and time management skills
Must be a team player, have good communication skills and able to work in fast paced environment
Basic Computer skills

Hours/Schedule: Full-time; 7:00 pm - 7:00 am;
(3) 12 hour shifts; weekends and holidays required

Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Serves as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care.
