Job Description
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) — Telepsychiatry North Carolina Licensed | Full-Time | 100% Remote | Immediate Start
About the Role
We're hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our growing telepsychiatry group serving patients across multiple care settings in North Carolina. This is a fully virtual position with a predictable weekday schedule, manageable patient volume, strong physician support, and a varied clinical caseload — no two days look quite the same.
What You'll Do
Provide virtual psychiatric consultations via the platform doxy.me across a mix of settings, including:
- Outpatient psychiatric care
- Acute care hospitals
- Post-acute and skilled nursing facilities
Clinical responsibilities include comprehensive History & Physical (H&P) psychiatric assessments, medication management, and follow-up visits. Expected patient volume is 6–12 encounters per day depending on visit type and complexity — built to support thoughtful, unrushed care rather than volume-driven throughput.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day
- No weekends, no holiday coverage, no call
Compensation & Benefits
W2 Employee — $150,000/year, including:
- Full medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
- 3 weeks combined vacation and sick time
- 10 paid company holidays
- Malpractice coverage
1099 Contractor option available — hourly rate, no benefits, ideal for clinicians who prefer independent contractor status.
Supervision & Support
You'll work alongside a collaborating psychiatrist available virtually for scheduled check-ins and by phone for real-time clinical questions. We believe good psychiatric care depends on accessible collaboration, not isolation.
Technology
We work primarily in Cerner and eClinicalWorks, with occasional use of other EMRs depending on the facility. Comfort adapting across platforms is a plus.
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina APRN license with PMHNP certification (ANCC)
- Active DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Comfort with telehealth platforms and multiple EMRs
- Experience across outpatient, inpatient, or post-acute settings preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently within a collaborative model
Start Date: Immediate — we are actively interviewing and credentialing.
