Responsibilities:

The Department of Health Sciences invites applications for a faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank with expertise in applying advanced research methods to any of the following areas: public health intervention design, analysis, or policy planning, especially relative to health disparities; health services access, utilization, and cost-related research, particularly in the context of population health management and improvement; and US and international health systems planning and economics. This appointment is central to advancing the University's Academic Plan, Northeastern 2025 http://www.northeastern.edu/academic-plan/, and positioning the department as the hub of public and population health initiatives at the University. The principal responsibilities of this position are to maintain an active, funded research program, mentor students at all levels, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, and perform service for the department and university at an appropriate to the level of faculty appointment. Engaging in intra-university research collaborations is also strongly encouraged.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with education, training, and experience. Qualifications:

Qualifications for this position include: A doctorate in epidemiology, health policy, public health, social and behavioral sciences, or a relevant field from an accredited institution; Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and supervising graduate student research, commensurate with rank; A robust research record as evidenced by extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications, commensurate with rank; Evidence of successful health research collaborations.

The Department of Health Sciences is situated in the Bouvé College of Health Sciences, one of seven colleges at Northeastern University https://bouve.northeastern.edu/health-sciences/. The Department has over 35 interdisciplinary faculty, and offers an undergraduate program in Health Sciences, four master degree programs (Exercise Science, Public Health, Health Informatics, and Health Data Analytics) and two doctoral programs (Population Health and Personal Health Informatics). Students work closely with faculty on research funded by federal grants and foundations.

Bouvé programs prepare students with a wide array of skills and experiences for careers in the health professions http://www.northeastern.edu/bouve/ and is located in close proximity to Boston’s Longwood Medical Area’s teaching hospitals and medical schools, as well as many other colleges and universities. The Department has excellent research, clinical, and training relationships with the community, city and state agencies.
