Starting Salary Range: $6,333 - $8,694 / Monthly - Starting salary is based on fixed criteria including the number of years as a licensed LCSW/LMFT and the type of experience.

Under the direction of the Case Manager Supervisor, the Case Manager provides mental health care and case management coordination and support, in collaboration with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) staff psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, and UCSC Student Health Center (SHC) providers.

The Case Manager provides services designed to assist students in optimizing their educational experience and minimizing the impact of illness, injury and emotional distress on their academic careers by coordinating mental health care through a network of campus and community resources. The Case Manager provides services to other campus departments as necessary, coordinating CAPS services with the Student Health Center (SHC) providers, Residential Life, and the Colleges. This person will work with a variety of Student Success departments that serve students, as well as provide consultation services for faculty and staff in dealing with distressed students.

In discharging these duties the Case Manager is expected to be keenly sensitive to issues of gender, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disabilities, etc. and to be skilled with techniques for counseling students with diverse backgrounds. All the Licensed Case Manager's activities are performed within the limits of the standards and ethical principles of their professional organization, as well as applicable legal mandates for mental health professionals in the State of California.

This position requires demonstrated expertise and understanding working with International Students while providing Case Management Services.

Qualifications include:

Experience working with International students and the challenges they face in a college/university setting

Demonstrated knowledge of the support needed by International students in a college/university setting

Demonstrated comprehensive understanding working with Asian culture

Expertise in clinical case management in a medical or integrated behavioral health setting

Strong knowledge and experience providing psychological diagnoses, brief interventions, and case management services to international students

Some special conditions include:

Valid California license, in good standing, as a Social Worker (LCSW), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Prior to formal offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal history background check and a pre-employment credentialing check.

Once employed, selected candidate:

Will be required to take HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accessibility) training within 30 days of hire;

Will be required to complete and renew Title IX (sexual harassment) training, as required;

Will be required to comply with current Student Health Center employee health safety requirements for health care workers as defined by state and federal regulatory agencies; Current health safety requirements to be discussed during interview.

Job will require occasional working of non-traditional hours.
