Working within a multi-disciplinary, medical clinic team, Chemical Dependency Professionals primarily assess and diagnose for substance use disorders and provide individualized treatment services. They also participate in outreach and prevention activities of the clinic.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate of Arts Degree or completion of education requirements for a Chemical Dependency Professional as described in WAC 246-811-030.
  • Experience: Two years of experience working as a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP). Experience working with both youth and adults in a multi-disciplinary setting is preferred.
  • Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Chemical Dependency Professional License; Current Washington State driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage. Bloodborne pathogens training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter. HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B training within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Knowledge of community resources. Demonstrated skills in engaging and motivating individuals to improve their health. Public speaking and teaching skills. Skilled in the use of electronic health records.
