SUMMARY:

Director is responsible for providing oversight of the Mental Health Division which serves clients with severe and persistent mental illness. The director will be responsible for training, monitoring and providing assistance and support to Master Level Supervisors and staff.


GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities include oversite of clinical services, revenue management, regulatory compliance standards, of programs in span of control. The Director will work with agency staff to ensure completion of quality improvement activities, data collection, outcome measures, productivity management, monthly reporting, financial tracking and budgeting.


The Director is responsible for program planning, implementation and evaluation as needed to ensure quality services to clients is maintained. Director will assign productivity targets to staff, monitor Medicaid/Medicare/PI billing to ensure the program is financially sustainable. Director will engage in QA activities to maintain regulatory/compliance requirements established by funders. The Director provides supervision, technical assistance, and support to members of the leadership team under span of control.

Essential Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • The Director of Mental Health is responsible for participating in strategic planning for mental health division, decision making on an administrative level in conjunction with the SR VP.
  • The DMH is responsible for establishing and/or maintaining Key Performance Indicators for the MH department.
  • The DMH together with the leadership team will engage in program planning, implementation and evaluation necessary to ensure recovery orientated services to clients are provided at a level consistent with industry standards.
  • The DMH is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Outpatient MH programs including but not limited to Outpatient MH services, Successful Transitions, Permanent Supportive Housing Services. Center may also expand into ACT, CST, PSR, IPS, Front Door Diversion Project, in future years.
  • DMH administers all aspects of programmatic compliance related to Behavioral Health Services, including development and implementation of new initiatives.
  • The DMH will provide oversight of assigned personnel which will include providing supervision, technical assistance, and support to leadership staff to ensure their programs adequately meet the needs of current clients. Periodic back-up coverage of the after-hours hotline may be required.
  • The DMH will assist in developing policies and procedures for the Mental Health Departments to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and clients; quality treatment standards and funder requirements are met.
  • The DMH is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, planning, and assuring the consistent implementation of standards and regulations including but not limited to Medicaid, CQL and Funder guidelines. DMH will take a lead role in any re-accreditation activities including updating policies, procedures and training staff.
  • The DMH periodically acts as a representative of Envision, attending meetings as requested, participating on committees, collaborating on marketing, fund raising, DEI and outreach efforts.
  • The DMH is responsible for providing recommendations to the VP and/or Human Resources for hiring and termination of staff.
  • The DMH maintains ongoing relationships with contractual liaisons related to contract changes, deliverables and/or issues discovered by RCM Department.
  • The DMH works as chief liaison between revenue cycle management team and BH service programs.
  • The DMH will keep abreast of current trends, methods, and techniques in the field of social services and apply them to Department processes.
  • DMH is responsible for planning and facilitating in-service training to allow for staff CEU's and/or enhanced clinical skills. DMH will, at times, be participating in outside training seminars at the discretion of the SVP
  • DMH will provide oversite of the Site Coordinator to ensure that front desk operations run smoothly, and the site is well maintained (clean, safe and free of observable safety hazards).
  • The DMH will engage in staff morale boosting activities such as summer BBQ, Holiday Parties, staff recognition and incentives. DMH will be responsible for developing activities for MH Awareness Month (May) that showcases Envisions services, recognizes client's recovery achievements and reduces stigma.
  • DMH will manage the day-to-day operations of the Center providing oversite safety, maintenance, appearance, and atmosphere.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Assistant Directors (AD) & clinicians of fee for service and grant funded programs. Staff are master prepared staff with most being clinically licensed (LCSW/LCPC/LMFT).

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field. Must have valid clinical licensure in Illinois (LCSW, LCPC or LMFT). 5+ years of experience in behavioral health management required. Minimum of 2 years of experience with Medicaid & Rule 140 compliance management. Experience with substance abuse treatment, trauma informed care, and current psychotherapies a plus. Working knowledge of property management.
