Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Nursing Assistant Program Director has primary responsibility and authority to administer the Nursing Assistant Program.

This position reports on matters relating to teaching, advising students, utilizing and teaching the state required Nursing Assistant curriculum, program revisions, clinical site management, textbook selection (if applicable), and Nursing Assistant pass rates on state examinations in accordance with the mission, core values, and purpose of the nursing program and Everett Community College. This position does teach and provide for clinical oversight and management.

The Nursing Assistant Program Director performs the following essential functions:

1. Build recruitment plan to drive program enrollment to achieve the goals of the Division.

2. Assists in recruitment and interviewing of qualified persons for open faculty positions.

4. Promotes rapport within the campus and community.

5. Oversees administration of the Nursing Assistant program.

6. Oversees associate faculty for Nursing assistant program.

7. Establishes appropriate curriculum guides and job descriptions for Nursing Assistant program.

8. Assigns faculty loads and develops course calendar in accordance with college policy

9. Evaluates program by monitoring, analyzing and reporting metrics to evaluate and track results.

10. Participates in relevant local, state and national meetings as requested.

11. Makes recommendations regarding equipment and software purchases and equipment to staff

12. Prepares an annual budget proposal in consultation with program staff.

13. Arranges for the procurement and inventory of supplies, guest lectures and instructional materials with program staff.

14. Participates in Nursing Assistant accreditation reviews and reports.

15. Coordinates program to meet state Nursing Assistant requirements.

16. Assists in publicizing and disseminating information about the Nursing Assistant program.

17. Works with program staff in maintaining admission requirements in recruiting students.

18. Coordinates program agreements/contracts with outside entities.

19. Participates in professional organizations, as appropriate.

20. Maintains meaningful working relationships with Nursing Assistant clinical agencies that provide

clinical experiences for students.

21. Serves as the primary advisor for the Nursing Assistant program.

22. Reviews projected offerings for the program on a quarterly basis and recommends needed

revisions to the Nursing Assistant Program.

23. Responsible for teaching and clinical supervision depending on need and time availability.

24. Researches and participates with community partners in new programs as requested.

25. Assists the School of Nursing in auditing Nursing Assistant programs as requested.

26. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
The Nursing Assistant Program Director must satisfy the following minimum qualifications:

1. Registered nurse with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing;

2. A minimum of two years of experience as a licensed nurse

3. Must have completed a course in teaching adults and/or have current teaching experience

4. Must be eligible to be approved to coordinate/direct the course by the state agencies governing the requirements for Nursing Assistant programs.

5. Current RN licensure in Washington state.

6. Possess strong leadership skills and organizational skills

7. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Masters degree in Nursing

2. Experience in supervising nursing assistant personnel for one year or more.
