The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), School of Public Health (SPH), Division of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences is seeking applications for a Research Associate I position, which conducts research and training coordination by collaborating with the PI and program directors to develop and execute the training and research program, preparing and assisting with the planning, collection, entering, coding and cleaning of data and descriptive results within the Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center (ERC) program.

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing surveys, interviews, observations or using other methods according to established research protocols; preparing data for analysis and executing details of studies, performing analysis and documenting results; developing databases related to project outcomes; may conduct literature searches; ordering study supplies and maintaining inventories; assisting the center director and program directors with strategic planning and evaluation of project outcomes; overseeing recruitment activities; coordinating outreach and interdisciplinary activities; assisting the center director with research and research training activities including implementing pilot project funding activities and managing IRB protocols; providing Occupational Health and Safety technical assistance for student research project; maintaining detailed records of results and prepare written reports, maintaining and processing required paperwork; managing meeting logistics; assisting the center director with advisory committee activities; managing grant renewal submissions; managing website content for the Illinois ERC website; performing other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must have: Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required. MS or MPH in Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene is preferred. Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures. Entry level knowledge of research methods.
