Overview Princeton University’s Department of Facilities, Office of Capital Projects (OCP), seeks a Senior Interior Project Manager to join a dynamic team of professional project managers. This role is a member of a robust design and project management team who collaborate with the Office of the Vice Provost for Space Programming and Planning, the University Architect, Academic Department Managers, University Services, Capital Project Program and Project Managers, and with colleagues from other Facilities departments. The Senior Interior Project Manager is instrumental in successfully executing multiple projects within his or her portfolio simultaneously and quickly. He or she will be responsible for projects that range from small renovations to being a part of a larger team for new capital projects, including Capital Plan 2 projects, with budget responsibilities ranging from $10,000 to $8,000,000. The emphasis will be on academic spaces, administrative office spaces and residential living housing and student centers. The Senior Interior Project Manager portfolio of work will include a wide range of project types, up to 50-60 projects annually with an estimated average spend of $6,000,000.This is a benefits eligible three year term position. Two positions available. Responsibilities The Senior Interior Project Manager represents the University’s interests throughout the design, selection and procurement and implementation process and is responsible for the coordination of the University’s efforts. In collaboration with the Program Manager as well as University stakeholders, the Senior Interior Project Manager will organize and conduct the professional services selection process in concert with the Office of the University Architect, when applicable, and Finance and Administration for projects. The Senior Interior Project Manager is responsible for the selection of furnishings, assuring they align with the University’s design standards, including sustainability objectives and targets, and are sourced competitively through bids with an emphasis on diversified suppliers. Duties and Responsibilities will be as follows: Project Programming Project Planning and Design Internal Interiors design review and guidance. Project Governance Maintaining FF+E (furnishings, finishes + equipment) Design Standards Risk Management Project Scheduling and Budgeting Sourcing, bidding and procuring FF+E. Client Relations and Communication Project Meetings Project Installations Project Punch List and Close Out Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited higher education institution. Ten years of strong interior design experience including involvement in all phases of the interior design process. Diverse interior design experience including a minimum of ten years project lead and management. Strong leadership skills with previous experience managing a team of 2-3 direct reports including hiring, mentoring, evaluating, and developing staff. NCIDQ and LEED strongly preferred. Strong project management skills including defining scope, preparing and managing project budgets and bringing projects in on schedule. Able to lead and successfully work within a cross functional team. Experience in programming and conducting user group data collection interviews, establishing space, finishes and furnishings requirements. Strong knowledge of materials and specifications, furniture sourcing and vendor resources. Able to select, specify and develop finish palettes and prepare furniture specifications and bid packages, including the leveling of the bid packages. Working knowledge of construction details and millwork. Track record directing and coordinating work efforts of junior staff with thoughtful, inspirational and collaborative leadership. Strong communication and presentation skills, specifically with senior management, clients and consultants. General knowledge of applicable building codes, sustainability, wellness and ADA requirements. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit and all Adobe programs, Sketch-Up, In-Design and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).Willing to learn new technology. Preferred Qualifications: Higher education design experience, studio and/or in-house. censes and Professional Accreditation: WELL AP, CPM certification. Basic knowledge of Revit and BIM.
