About the Role:  The Electrical Cables and Components (EC&C) Business Group is seeking a technical leader for the Microwave Cables and Assemblies (MW) Business Unit (BU) to help in shaping and executing the overall MW business strategy as a member of the MW BU leadership team.  The MW BU technical leader is responsible for leading and influencing cross functional project teams in support of product development and manufacturing engineering projects aligned with the priorities of the global business unit. This role can be executed from either Elkton, Maryland, USA or Dundee, Scotland.



* Providing technical leadership for MW cable and assembly businesses in alignment with EC&C business strategies

* Influencing BU strategy development as a member of the MW BU leadership team

* Developing and maintaining a forward looking technical plan

* Driving development and continual refinement of MW Product Strategy Model with cross functional team

* Leading, developing and mentoring technical associates (scientists, engineers, and technicians)

* Ensuring technical projects effectively using the R&D funnel process, RWW, PSM, PCS, and R&D portfolio database

* Fostering an environment of collaboration across functions and businesses globally

* Championing IP strategy for the BU and ensuring appropriate protection of Gore IP

* Representing status and significance of current and forthcoming BU project work that consumes technical resource within the BG's project portfolio while actively supporting a robust technical project prioritization process across EC&C, as a member of the EC&C Technical Leadership Team

* Leading in a manner consistent with our culture

Required Qualifications:  

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or other technical degree

* Experience developing and activating technical plans

* Experience managing near-term priorities and long-term strategic opportunities

* Successful experience leading teams

* Process development and support experience

* History of success leading or mentoring technical associates

*  Excellent verbal and written communication skills along  with working and influencing across functions.

* Ability to Travel internationally up to 15%

* Required Agreement Type:  Extended Service Agreement (ESA)

Desired Qualifications:  

* Advanced technical degree and new product development experience

* Experience working with MW cable and assembly manufacturing and electrical test operations

* Experience leading technical teams in global environments
