Job Description

Sr Estimator / Estimator / Assistant Estimators / Project Coordinators

Estimator / Sr. / Chief Estimator Experience:

o   Must have high level experience with the following types of work:

§  Hospital Renovations – Ground Up Projects

§  Heavy Commercial & Industrial Background

§  Large Retail, and Warehousing Commercial Work

§  Design Build Aspects, Theory and VE Options.

§  Must have experience with the National Electrical Code and know how it pertains to blueprints and takeoffs.

o   Sr. / Chief Estimating Position / Process:

§  Must have held the Position of Electrical Estimator for a Minimum of 10 Years

·       Years of Experience will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

§  Must have a minimum of 5-10 Years of Accubid / Conest Estimating Software

·       Must be able to handle On-Screen Takeoff  

·       Must know the ability and functions of Accubid Estimating Software & Conest Intellibid Software.

·       Must know the operation of Bluebeam Software

·       Must be Familiar with Online Takeoff in lieu of Printed plans.

§  Must have experience with Accubid / Conest ability to breakdown and provide breakout pricing and add alternate pricing in the correct format.

§  Understand concept of man-loading of a project based upon needs of the project.

§  Determine and quantify the Labor Hours associated with each set of plans VS Accubids takeoff.

§  Determine and qualify the Cost associated with all Quotable items.

§  Review and Analyze blueprints for accuracy and proper installation.

§  Must know how to submit a formal RFI (Request for Information) with accurate information and technical information.

§  Must know and understand the National Electrical Code National and local.

§  Time Management:

·       Must know and understand concepts of time management throughout Estimating Process and Deadlines.

·       Sense of Urgency and Reality of timelines and project assumed schedules.

§  Must always possess a High level of Organization with the estimate. So that all can understand your takeoff.

§  Must be willing and able to explain the estimate to Sr. VP / VP’s and Project Staff.

§  Must be willing to use Pre-Construction and Prefabrications concepts within the Estimate. 

§  Coordinate and communicate all aspects of the Estimate process with Executive Management.

§  Must be fluent with the following Programs: Excel, Word, Procore, Bluebeam, Etc.

o   Salary / Compensation: Sr Estimator /Chief

§  $90-100K / $120-150K P/Y

o   Salary / Compensation: Project Coordinator / Assistant Estimator

§  55-70K P/Y

Assistant Electrical Estimator/ Project Coordinator Experience:

o   Reading and Interpreting Plans

o   Preparing Plan Bill of Material for Quotable Items.

o   Assist all Estimators in preparation of Bid Packages for all General Contractors.

o   Provide Accurate information as Updates on Bids and RFI’s are issued.

o   Prepare and Building the Bid Folder.

o   Learn and understand the concepts of Electrical Estimating from the Sr Electrical Estimators.

o   Promote Positive Subcontractor Relationships

o   Promote Positive Relationships with all General Contractors / Developers / Owners.

o   Must be fluent with the following Programs: Excel, Word, Procore, Bluebeam, Etc. or willing to learn.

o   Must be willing to learn the process or Estimating Software.

·       Qualifications and Requirements:

o   0-1 year of Electrical Estimating Experience

o   Proficient with all Microsoft Platforms.

o   Willing to Learn the Online Takeoff Process

o   Strong organizational Skills with a Fats Paced Environment.

o   Willing to learn and Adapt to the Team Environment.

o   Must have a Positive Attitude within this environment.

o   Must be willing to learn on the fly under Supervision Direction.

o   Must be willing to work Long Hours in the sitting Position.

o   Promote Positive Subcontractor Relationships

o   Reliable Means of Transportation

o   Work Location is Located within Greenville SC County.

o   10 Hour Shifts Daily and at times longer shifts when called upon.

o   Must Pass a Formal Drug Screening, Background Check and Possible MVR Check.

o   College Degree (Not Mandatory) High School Diploma (Mandatory)

Electrical Project Manager

Roles and Responsibility’s

General Requirements:

·       Experience in Commercial and Industrial construction Building and/or Civil applications;

·       Computer skills Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Accubid Classic/Conest Intellibid.

·       Excellent organizational skills and able to prioritize multiple tasks without becoming overwhelmed;

·       Ability to work with field supervisors, craft/tradesmen.

·       Must have a Minimum of 10-15 Years in the Electrical Construction Industry; Field and Project Management.

·       Ability to multi-task and work on more than one project at a time;

·       Represents the highest standard of professional conduct with other groups, department members and clients;

·       Basic understanding of other discipline workflow and how all departments work together to complete projects Ability to set and track goals;

·       Full Knowledge of the NFPA 70, 70E and 72.

·       Must Possess Team Spirit with all aspects of this job description.

·       Must be a team builder and understand field manpower.

·       Project Experience ranges from 1M to 10M of Successful Projects, must provide Proof of Success.

·       Must be Willing to Travel when requested to jobsite in town and out of town.

·       Must be in Great Physical Health; Job does require a lot of standing and walking.

Positions Responsibility’s

·       Estimating change orders; with detail.

·       Layout/design, engineering support;

·       Attend project meetings;

·       Participate in all required safety activities. Promote safety in all aspects of the project;

·       Work with and through others to accomplish Project, Departmental and Corporate goals;

·       Generate Change Order Requests;

·       Work in collaboration with office personnel and field employees;

·       Assist Business Development and Client Manager in business related activities;

·       A representative of the Company to customers and potential customers

·       Develops and maintains excellent customer and subcontractor relationships;

·       Visit job sites on a regular basis as the Company Representative;

·       Review and approve invoices to the client, as well as manage estimates, schedules, and reports being sent to the client;

·       Manages projects as required including all financial aspects of the project to protect and enhance cost savings;

·       Visit job sites on a regular basis as the Company Representative;

·       Must be familiar with Labor Reporting, Forecasting and Projections from Month to Month and answer your statements as issued to Executive Management.

·       Must know the Concepts and Requirements of all OSHA Required items on all Construction Jobs you are assigned to.

·       Must be aware of Preconstruction and Pre-Fabrication Concepts to utilize them prior to starting the project.

·       Must always have Professional Appearance

·       Must have Clean Background and Driving Record
