The starting annual base salary range for this full-time, 10 month position is $75,000-$94,000.

Position Summary and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Health Service, this role will work as a healthcare provider in the medical clinic. In addition, this employee will be responsible for the coordination of gynecological and gender-affirming clinical services at Vassar College. They will be directly engaged with day-to-day patient care in medical, gynecologic and gender-affirming services. The employee will develop and implement clinical workflow refinements based on best practices guidelines in the previously stated specialty areas. The employee will ensure practice compliance with all DOH regulations, policies and procedures as it pertains to the areas of gynecological and gender-affirming services. The employee will work with off-campus partners to provide continuity of care, especially in regard to accessing gynecologic and gender-affirming services off-campus.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm or dependent upon departmental and campus needs; academic year which runs 40 weeks/year mid-August through mid-June. On-call schedule is one night per week and one weekend (Friday 5pm-Monday 830am) per month during the academic year.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality, professional patient care both in-person and virtually to patients seeking medical, gynecological and gender-affirming care as well as on site emergency care when needed. Ensure proper and timely documentation of all assessments, treatments and patient responses while meeting professional and departmental medical documentation standards.
- Serve as a liaison with off-campus healthcare centers and practices to ensure appropriate and seamless patient care transfer and access to patient services. Participate in on campus meetings as appropriate.
- Improve access to HIV/STI screening on-campus through a variety of means which may include the development and implementation of an on-campus STI/HIV clinic.
- Ensure the Health Clinic provides LGBTQ+ inclusive healthcare through a variety of means including staff training and professional development.
- Work with leadership to optimize workflows and staffing models to continually improve clinical operations and patient access to care.
- Assist in the training of all clinical and ancillary staff in the areas of gynecological and gender-affirming care, in order to continue to provide quality patient care. Develop and regularly update training curricula for clinical and ancillary staff.
- Provide mentorship and guidance for staff development in the area of gynecological and gender-affirming care.
- Review and implement all departmental policies and protocols in the professional workflow in order to maintain quality control and ensure patient safety.
- Support the mission, philosophy standards, goals and objectives of the institution and department.
- Assist the department in the day-to-day clinical operations which may include obtaining IV access, administering injections, responding to patient calls or emails, performing outreach to patients who were referred to an acute care facility, assisting the DOH with contact tracing efforts when needed, obtaining and processing lab specimens for in-house and send-out labs.
- Maintain current expertise in the area of practice.
- Perform additional clinical tasks to support the operations of the department.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Current Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner license or Physician Assistant license in the State of New York.
- Baccalaureate degree.
- Three years of experience in either Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Adolescent Medicine or College Health or related field with at least 1 of those years spent in clinical practice in the field of gynecology or other comparable specialty.
- Current BLS level CPR certification.
- Current DEA license.
- Independently skilled in the placement and removal of long-acting reversible contraceptives.
- Progressive leadership skills; ability to develop, guide, motivate, and coach others.
- Ability to develop and apply patient care processes toward achievement of specific outcomes and for patient satisfaction.
- Ability to adapt to changing protocols and guidelines based on the healthcare field.
- Excellent interpersonal skills , effective communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
- Must be able to function with a high level of autonomy, be self-motivated; detail oriented, and proficient in electronic health record documentation.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the department and institution.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of electronic Medicat.
- PALS and ACLS certification.
